Critical Mineral Surveys in Nevada

In the following report for the Sierra Nevada Ally and it’s partner station KNVC 95.1 in Carson City, NV, I explored the search for critical minerals in the state of Nevada. As part of my research, I explored how an influx of funding to the U.S. Geological Survey and the Nevada Bureau of Mines and Geology that came from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is being used to understand the geologic make-up of various Nevada regions. The surveys aim to understand the viability of critical mineral mining in the state, which coincides with the need for renewable energy technology development in response to climate change.

Featured in this report are the following subject matter experts I interviewed:

  • Lyndsay Ball, a research geophysicist at the Geology, Geophysics, and Geochemistry Science Center in Denver, Colorado,
  • Jim Faulds, director of the Nevada Bureau of Mines and Geology
  • Warren Day, science coordinator of Earth MRI

necoTECH SBA Video

One of my first client’s was necoTECH, an infrastructure solution company based in Columbus, Ohio. I was connected with Zac Graber, Director of Product at necoTECH, who needed a video to showcase his company at an expo for SBIR/STTR-funded technologies as part of the Small Business Innovation Research agency. The prompts for the video submission can be found below:

“Video Narrative:  A video of not more than 5 minutes that describes the company and team, and their expertise related to the technology; the SBIR/STTR-funded technology; impact of the technology thus far; traction, awards, recognition and/or strong sales; and what the business needs in order to scale.”

“It is the Expo’s goal to elevate your company and work, and selected videos will be livestreamed to the American public during the event. Please put your best foot forward to produce and share a video that represents your business, gets people’s attention and shows off the incredible work your company is producing!”

For this project, Zac shared with me photos and b-roll footage previously gathered of his products in action. He also pre-recorded a script to be used in the video. After receiving all the key assets and elements, I edited and produced the content I had received into a submission-ready video within 48 hours. The video can be viewed below.
