Author Interview: Looking at the Impact of the Critical Minerals, in Nevada and Beyond

Ernest Scheyder recently authored a new book titled: “The War Below: Lithium, Copper and the Global Battle to Power Our Lives.” In this podcast episode for the Sierra Nevada Ally, a new battleground is forming around the need for critical minerals to support the renewable energy transition, while weighing the costs to rural and Indigenous communities in Nevada.

My name is Scott King and I grew up on the east side of Cleveland, Ohio. I graduated from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio with a degree in Professional Writing and a minor in Marketing. Upon graduation, I joined the Peace Corps to teach literacy in the Eastern Caribbean where I lived in my host-community of Gouyave, Grenada from May 2017-July 2019.
